What hairdye do you use? / How do you dye your hair?
My hair is naturally a sort of mousey brown colour but I get bored a lot so I dye it lots of bright colours. I bleach my hair using Clairol or Jerome Russell B Blonde hair lightening kits which usually leave my hair a yucky orange yellow colour, then I dye over that with the colours I want which gives a bright colour.
I use Star Gazer hairdyes as these can be mixed safely and have no ammonia (a good thing when you’ve just bleached your hair to death!) and I also find they fade out to pretty pastel colours as you wash them. They do fade quite quickly though so if you want a really vibrant colour for a long time I would suggest using another brand such as SFX dyes.
Is that your real hair?!
It really depends since I change my hair a lot and I also wear a lot of wigs in different colours and styles. If my hair has suddenly gotten considerably longer or shorter that’s usually a good indication it’s not real, I don’t cut my hair very often!
Where do you buy your clothes/wigs?
I buy about 50% of all my clothing second hand in charity shops and vintage shops, my town is littered with them, you can find some amazing treasures, they’re usually cheaper than highstreet shops and you also know that some of the money you spend there is going to help various causes.
30% comes from highstreet shops, usually Primark if I’m honest with you! I live on a student budget so Primark fits my needs, you can make unique and interesting outfits with clothing from mainstream shops by mixing and matching and modifying clothes bought there.
The last 20% is bought on Ebay, I can be a major Ebay fiend when I set my mind to it.
I wrote an extensive post with lots of links and pictures regarding where to buy online for both clothing, hair dye and wigs. Dear Sweetlings Guide to Shopping, Wigs and Hair Dye
