Good Evening my sweetlings,
Hello February! Hello Chinese New Year! This year we're taking a trip with the Snake, and being a Snake myself (an Earth Snake to be precise) I'm hoping it will be a year full of fulfilling dreams, goals and fantasies here there and everywhere! I wish the very, very best for you all my dears and may we all have the best year we've ever had.
Where to start? I feel as though this month has been overflowing with events and we're only on the 9th. Dear Sweetlings celebrated it's 4th birthday on the 6th, very quietly this year, though Steven suggested I could do an introductory sort of post for all of the readers who have joined me along the way these past 4 years. That comment came up after I very excitedly said that my blog is now old enough to be able to go to school, carrying it's little packed lunch and with pigtailed hair flying in the wind. When I think of my blog I see it as myself when I was 4 years old, perhaps when we reach 13 it will have an extremely gothic makeover!
Steven and I spent the past few days at my folks eating delicious food, reading lots of books, cuddling cats and chilling out. We went home to bury our darling Cow and my mama is going to plant something on top of his grave, as she does for all of the others who rest there now.
I've been hooking away on my latest project and got it finished, my folks house always makes me extra productive! I created another freeform crochet afghan wrap (wow, that's a mouthful.) which was inspired by earthy rainbows and the beautiful sunrises of Winter. It is made from a range of wools, from 100% wool, handspun and hand-dyed creations, recycled Sari silk yarn and salvaged acrylic-wool blends.
Steven very kindly modelled for me this morning in front of one of the beautiful Birch trees in my parents yard. It's kinda sorta a little shout out to my beautiful Steffie who just released her Birch Tree pattern for scarves and cuffs, it is so gorgeous and, seeing as Birch is my Celtic birth tree, I'm especially fond of our silver ladies of the woods.
The wrap is now in the shop, you can get your little paws on it right here.
I am unabashed and overflowing with my love of Steven's smile. I honestly feel that he has the most gorgeous smile I've ever seen on anybody, I've been in love with it from day one when it made my heart flutter and my knees weak.
I realised I haven't been in very many of my own pictures of late, I'm getting sort of out of practice and had to remedy that situation!
I was trying to tame my hair and Steven was happily snapping away... this is probably the truest representation of what I look like most of the time!

Those things you make are seriously awful!
ReplyDeleteFunny how the people who seem to take such joy in coming and spitting venom about other people's creations never have the guts to do it with a name to their face isn't it?
DeleteIf you don't like something there is literally nobody forcing you to sit and look at it, just keep scrolling.
Silly troll is silly :)
