Good Afternoon my sweetlings,
I hope you're all having a wonderful month so far, how are you finding January? Do you enjoy this month? I love the freshness of everything, how everything feels so brand new, so promising. I also love knowing that Spring is just around the corner and I love the anticipation of waiting for the first daffodils and crocuses to poke their sleepy heads up above the dirt. It seems to have gotten so much colder in the past week or so that I think Spring might be a little way off yet, but I'm also enjoying wrapping up in snuggly thick jumpers and hiding under my duvet watching animal documentaries with Steven. I've found myself enjoying Winter more as I've gotten older, there was a time not long ago that I loathed the dark nights and cold days but now I find more and more things to love about them.
We had snow last night too! I didn't see it, deeply rooted as I was in the Land of Nod, but I do remember Steven excitedly whispering to me that it was snowing. In my sleepy haze I think I had to repeat the word 'snow' to myself a few times to understand what was going on!
Today I've been squirreling away in the kitchen finally, finally!, putting the finishing touches to something I've been working on for a few months. Candles! I have the feeling that my nearest and dearest would probably rather never hear the word 'candle' again after being forced to listen to me wiffling on about them for hours on end, detailing to them the precise way I wanted to melt the wax, blend the oils, add them, then do the wicks, was I going to add herbs or not, how strong should they be ad infinitum! I've been making and burning candles pretty much none stop since I came up with the idea that I wanted to make them, trying to get them just right, and I've finally cracked it!
So without further ado I present to you 6 new candles, 100% Soy Wax, all natural ingredients and 100% Vegan Friendly! There are 3 different scents with two sizes in each. Follow me to have a little gander (or if you want to run ahead to the shop then go right ahead!)
These candles have a beautifully rich and earthy aroma, mysterious, deep
and dark. I imagine walking through a forest at night, feeling the mossy
trees and roots underfoot, stumbling across a cottage nestled deep
within the trees with flickering firelight coming through the windows.
The ingredients included in this candle are as follows:
Soy Wax, Dried Herbs and Resins.
Essential
Oils: Oakmoss, Myrrh, Red Thyme, Palma Rosa, Ginger, Cinnamon, Scots
Pine, Vetiver, Nutmeg, Patchoulli, Ho Wood and Frankincense.
Solstice 90g Candle. Vegan Friendly Soy Wax, Approximate Burning Time 10 hours.
These candles have a gorgeous citrusy scent with a top note of Lemongrass, followed by a light earthiness and freshness.
I
created this scent with the solstices in mind, focusing on the idea of
fresh starts and new inspiration, the dreaming that comes with
everything new.
The ingredients included in this candle are as follows:
Soy wax, dried herbs and resins.
Essential
oils: Lime, Fennel, May Chang, Apple Blossom, Ylang Ylang, Lemongrass,
Bergamot, Frankincense, Grapefruit, Rosewood, Basil and Birch.
Tabula Rasa 90g Candle. Vegan Friendly Soy Wax, Approximate Burning Time 10 hours.
These candles have a wonderfully delicate scent reminiscent of the scent of
fresh herbs and flowers carried on the Spring breeze. I chose the name
Tabula Rasa, which translates as "unwritten upon", because I wanted to
create a scent that reminded me of a fresh start, a clean slate ready
for something new.
The ingredients included in this candle are as follows:
Soy wax, dried herbs and resins.
Essential
Oils: Cedarwood, Egyptian Geranium, Roman Chamomile, Benzoin, Lavender,
Bay Laurel, Rosewood, Petitgrain, Basil, Grapefruit, Ho Wood, Apple
Blossom
Have you been making anything lately my loves? I'd love to take a peek or hear a little tale about it!

These seem absolutely wonderful... Do you have any idea if they'd be bird safe? I can't burn candles in fear that it would end up killing my bird. But I'm yearning to find some kind of candle or something I'd be able to use.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I never realised birds were so sensitive to essential oils! I just did a little bit of a research to try and find out but I'm afraid I couldn't say for certain. What I can tell you is that I burn my candles in the same room as my rats cage quite often, rats are notorious for having sensitive respiratory systems, but they seem totally fine.
DeleteHi there,
ReplyDeleteIs it safe to use herbs in soy wax? I read somewhere that they are a potential fire hazard
Hi there,
DeleteThanks for your question :) I've been adding dried herbs to my candles for a while now and never had any problems with them.
