Grimoire / Dolly-kei Style

 Good Afternoon my sweetlings ^^
I was doing some researching last night and I was really excited to discover that the Grimoire Lolita / Dolly-kei style is becoming more popular and widespread! It is an amazing style and alongside Mori style it seems to be gaining momentum. There's a great Livejournal community here which has lots of information and pictures and I'll be making a post centered around the style soon.
I was discussing the style with my friend Alice last night and we both decided to try it out. I thought I would give it a go today and it was a lot of fun! I'm sure my outfit could be improved a lot so I'll be working on that, perhaps in Winter when wearing a lot of layers won't be such a problem.

I feel like the human version of Misdreavus with all this hair!

For my Mum

Good Afternoon my dears,
Today I had to go out and run some errands so we decided to stop off in the second hand furniture shop too. I found this really cute double decker teapot/teacup (I have no idea of their technical name, if anybody knows please tell me!) and I had to buy it. This time it even came with it's own saucer ^^. I love it so much and I think they're a really good idea since they keep your tea warm too. I've never found them outside of the second hand shop, it's like nobody sells them anymore. Now my faerie teapot has a friend :)

with my Faerie teapot, I really want to collect these.

I had the biggest craving for Jam on toast this morning which is unusual for me. Since there are still a lot of blackberries down the lane I think I'm going to try my hand at making some soon!

I haven't been wearing very exciting outfits recently since I really haven't felt in the mood. I've mostly been wearing black or grey and lots of slouchy clothes, I liked my outfit today though so I thought I would share it.

Outfit rundown
Hair flower: New Look
Black jumper: New Look
Jeans: Primark
Socks: Christmas gift
Shoes: Primark

A little bag I made out of an old skirt that doesn't fit me anymore. I love the print of the fabric and it's super soft so I didn't want to throw it away. I made the bag to give to my mum since she's been going through a tough time recently and I like to give her handmade things.
Apologies for my laptop being in these photos, this bag was very stubborn about me taking it's picture!

The button which I took off another skirt I plan to turn into something.

A close up of the material ^^

The lining is really soft. Also there is a little ribbon loop in there to hang the bag up ^^

and finally a little note for my mum -

Hi Mum,
I know you don't get a chance to read my blog very often but I want everyone else to see this too so I'm going to trust Dad to show you this.
You are the best mum I could ever hope or wish for. I think you are the best mum I have ever met in my life and I have met quite a few mums! That makes me extra lucky because I get to have you as my mum.
I look up to you a lot, I think everybody could learn something from you. You are strong, caring, kind, loving, funny, silly, brave, have a great attitude to life and you never let anybody boss you around.
I love your outlook on things, I love that you like to have fun and don't take yourself or others too seriously. I think we both have a child like nature, I like that you raised me to see the magic in all things. You are very accepting of all people and you and Dad gave me such a great upbringing where you always encouraged me to be myself no matter what strange form that took!
I like your funny habits like how you make up songs all the time and how you always talk to your pets like they can understand you.
I love you and Dad very, very much and I think about you both every day.

Magical Homes

Good Afternoon my dears,
I hope you all are having a wonderful day, wherever you are in this world ^^. The weather this month has been so strange, not like a usual August at all. When I go outside the blustering winds, the rippling leaves, the earthy smells... everything reminds me so very much of Autumn. Now would usually be the time of sitting outside in the mornings with a bowl of cereal and basking in the warmth of the last month of Summer, this year it is a time for putting on knitted jumpers, cuddling up with a book and listening to the pouring rain. Or otherwise snuggling up in bed, burying my head in the covers that make me think of the clouds and listening to the whistling wind as it rushes about my house.
I have been doing lots of reading this month, something that always reminds me of the Autumn and Winter. Currently I am reading Ballet Shoes by Noel Streatfield and Guilty Pleasures, the first Anita Blake book by Laurell K. Hamilton which Steven very kindly bought for me as a surprise gift ♥. I am thoroughly enjoying the tales of Pauline, Petrova and Posy Fossil, the novel reminds me a little of a more grown up version of one of Frances Hodgson Burnett's books... and those names, aren't they perfect? At the same time I am really intrigued by all of the different vampires in the Anita book, and I must say by Anita herself. They're Steven's favourite books so I'm determined to read them all.
I've been searching about the internet for some inspiration and sadly haven't turned up much of late. Right now the internet seems to be moving quite sluggishly. Still, I collected some images from The Selby of some beautiful houses, the one belonging to Gerald Decock in particular is so amazing.

Little Flower's day of Exploring

Good Evening my sugar dumplings ^^
I apologise for being a bit quiet at the moment, my family is going through some difficult times and it's been hard for me to be as chirpy as usual because we've all been feeling quite sad and worried. Still I thought what better time than to look for the magic around you than when you're struggling a little? Sometimes just indulging in fantasy and play time can really lighten your mood and help you to feel good again; luckily I have a miniature friend who felt the same way!
My garden is really a spectacular place to go for an adventure when you're small. It appears there has been talk of it on the bookshelf (Mr Rat is a bit of a show off it seems!) so today was Flower's turn to explore.

I got Flower and her sister on Etsy for my birthday last year.

It seems she is a very nimble deer! My tomatoes are growing bigger and bigger every day, I just can't wait for them to ripen so I can see them all shiny and red on the plants.

This flower is beautiful, I believe it's a Tiger Flower although I may be mistaken. It seems to close up every night and reopen every morning, as though it goes to sleep and wakes with the sun.

My strawberries have had two batches this year ^_^

Everybody likes to spend time with Stan. At the beginning of the year he was hiding in a big plant but as the year went on the plant grew outwards and we were finally able to see him again.

Hiding in the undergrowth, sneaky Flower!

Eating weeds which is very helpful indeed, they're run riot in the garden right now.

The Ivy Path is always at it's best in Summer, it's so beautiful at the moment.

Flowers like these make good drinking fountains too.

and they also make really good hats!
